Signew
LiveMobile-first digital waiver signing platform
The Problem
Businesses that need waivers signed — gyms, trampoline parks, escape rooms, tour operators — are stuck between paper forms and bloated SaaS platforms that charge per signature. The paper option is a legal liability (lost forms, illegible signatures). The digital options are overengineered and expensive for what should be simple: get a signature on a document, fast.
What It Does
Signew is a mobile-first digital waiver platform:
- Zero-friction signing — customers scan a QR code and sign on their phone. No app download, no account creation
- Template builder — businesses create waiver templates with custom fields, legal text, and signature blocks
- Dashboard — view all signed waivers, search by name or date, export for compliance
The entire flow — scan, read, sign, done — takes under 60 seconds.
How It's Built
Signew runs on Cloudflare Pages with Supabase for database, auth, and file storage. Emails go through Resend via the signew.io domain. The signing interface is optimized for mobile touch — large tap targets, minimal scrolling, and a canvas-based signature pad.
The QR codes are generated per-template and can be printed, displayed on a tablet, or embedded in a website.
What I Learned
Signew taught me that the best product decisions are the ones you don't make. Every feature I said no to — user accounts for signers, multi-page waivers, PDF uploads — kept the product fast and focused.
The hardest part wasn't the tech. It was resisting the urge to build a "platform" when what businesses actually need is a fast, reliable way to get a signature.
